Cebu Pacific is adding Hanoi to its growing Clark hub — and it is doing so with one of the most aggressive fare promotions in recent memory. The Philippine low-cost carrier has announced direct flights between Clark International Airport and Hanoi starting May 2, 2026, accompanied by a ₱1 one-way base fare offered for a limited booking window.

The new service, which will operate three times a week, marks Cebu Pacific’s fifth international route from Clark and reinforces the airport’s role as a northern gateway to the region, easing travel for passengers in central and northern Luzon who have long relied on Manila for overseas flights.

₱1 Fare, Limited Window

The promotional fare, exclusive of government fees and surcharges, is available for bookings made from January 28 to February 1, 2026. Travel under the seat sale can take place between May 2 and October 31, 2026, giving passengers a five-month window to plan trips to Vietnam’s capital.

While advertised at ₱1, Cebu Pacific reminded passengers that final ticket prices will include additional fees, a standard practice across the airline industry. Even so, the promo significantly lowers the barrier for first-time international travelers, particularly families and workers based outside Metro Manila.

Flight Schedule and Route Details

Cebu Pacific will operate the Clark–Hanoi service three times weekly. Flights will depart Clark every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with return flights from Hanoi scheduled on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The route becomes the airline’s fifth international destination from Clark, joining Bangkok, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Singapore. For Cebu Pacific, it is another step in decentralizing international air travel from the congested Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Boost for Clark and Northern Luzon Travelers

Company executives described the launch as part of a broader strategy to strengthen Clark as a secondary hub. “Launching direct flights from Clark to Hanoi is an exciting milestone for Cebu Pacific as we continue to strengthen Clark as a hub,” said Xander Lao, the airline’s president and chief commercial officer.

Lao added that the new route would benefit travelers across Pampanga, Tarlac, Bulacan, and nearby provinces. “This route enhances travel options from Clark, allowing passengers from north and central Luzon to reach Hanoi more easily,” he said.

For many passengers, the route eliminates the need to travel south to Manila — a detour often defined by traffic congestion, long queues, and higher costs. In effect, Clark serves as a shortcut, cutting travel friction much like a newly opened expressway.

Tourism and Economic Spillovers

Hanoi, known for its Old Quarter, colonial architecture, and access to destinations such as Halong Bay, has grown in popularity among Filipino tourists. The direct link is expected to support leisure travel, short business trips, and overseas employment mobility, particularly during the mid-2026 travel season.

At the same time, increased international traffic is expected to generate downstream benefits for the Clark area, including demand for ground services, hospitality, and airport-related employment.

Part of a Broader Expansion Push

The Clark–Hanoi route comes as Cebu Pacific continues to grow both domestically and overseas. The airline currently operates flights to 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

In 2025, Cebu Pacific carried 26.878 million passengers, up 9.5 percent from the previous year, with domestic travel accounting for the bulk of traffic. The airline expects capacity growth to continue.

We anticipate sustaining similar growth levels in 2026, supported by the delivery of seven new aircraft during the year,” said Mike Szucs, Cebu Pacific’s chief executive officer. “As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we look forward to another milestone year for the airline.”

Regulatory Clearance and Operations

The new international route operates under existing civil aviation regulations and air service agreements between the Philippines and Vietnam. Clark International Airport, under the jurisdiction of Pampanga, serves as the operational base, with approvals falling within the remit of the Civil Aeronautics Board.

No separate legislative or executive issuances were cited in the route announcement.
