The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved a 10% fare discount for Yanson Group bus routes during the upcoming Holy Week. Board Chairman Rodrigo Mendoza confirmed the regulatory body endorsed the fare reduction, covering travel from Good Friday through Easter Sunday.

The promotional fare applies to all Yanson Group bus routes nationwide, providing relief for commuters during the peak travel period. Mendoza said the initiative addresses the financial burden travelers face during seasonal holidays.

"This initiative provides substantial financial relief for Filipino travelers who face increased transportation costs during peak holiday seasons. The reduced fares aim to make travel more accessible to ordinary citizens who rely on bus transportation," Mendoza stated.

Yanson Group is the country's largest bus company, operating routes across major Philippine islands. The fare reduction applies only to Yanson buses at this time. Other bus operators have not announced similar discounts.

Holy Week typically triggers a massive surge in land travel as Filipinos undertake traditional Visita Iglesia activities and return to home provinces. The country records hundreds of thousands of bus passengers during the Lenten season.

Commuters should verify promotional fares before travel. The discount covers three days of the Holy Week observance, which begins with Palm Sunday and concludes on Easter Sunday.
