P235-M bypass road projects break ground in Pampanga

A total of PHP235 million worth of bypass road projects will be constructed here as part of an effort to decongest traffic situation in the province.

In a simple groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, Pampanga 3rd District Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales led the capsule laying of the three-kilometer Sta. Ana-Arayat package 1 and 2 project amounting PHP160 million, and the Aquino Byway Extension in the City of San Fernando worth PHP75 million.

The budget allocation for the construction of the bypass road Sta. Ana-Arayat package, which is 20 meters in width and 30 inches thickness, includes right of way clearance and filling of low lying areas.

In an interview with local media, Gonzales said the construction of road projects will take eight months.

He said the landmark projects that will ease traffic situation in and out of the province is a collective effort of the national, provincial government, and the local government units here.

The Sta. Ana-Arayat bypass road will connect the towns of Arayat and Mexico all the way to North Luzon Expressway (NLEx).

He said his congressional district, along with the Department of Public Works and Highways in Central Luzon, is eyeing another bridge concept somewhere in the City of San Fernando. (Marna Dagumboy Del Rosario, PNA)
