The North Luzon Express Terminal expected to help decongest Metro Manila traffic is eyed to be fully operational come 2020.
With this, transport officials said that the number of buses in Edsa will be diminished by 6,000.
To be situated at the Ciudad de Victoria complex owned by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) in Bocaue, Bulacan, the said bus terminal will be the fourth integrated terminal to help ease vehicle volume in Metro Manila.
Among the other terminals that are under construction include the Taguig Integrated Terminal Exchange and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange. The Metro Manila Eastern Multimodal Terminal in Marikina, meanwhile, started operations last year.
Just last week, a memorandum of understanding was signed by transport and public works officials with the North Luzon Express Terminal for the construction of the 11.5-hectare transport hub.
The said terminal could accommodate 96,000 daily passengers going to and from the north.
