A policewoman from Zamboanga Del Norte emerged as this year’s Ms. PNP Ganda Pulis after ousting 25 other candidates from different police offices in the Philippines.
Aside from the title itself, Police Officer 1 (PO1) Madonna Gay Cajoco also bagged special awards including Best in Ethnic Costume, Ms. Mac Cosmetics, Ms. MX3, Best in Resorts Wear, Best in Long Gown, and Ms. Above Aesthetics. Alongside the awards, Cajoco won PhP 50,000 prize money and other products.
During the coronation night held at the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame on Monday, April 23, Cajoco dazzled in an evening gown made by well-known designer Val Taguba, one of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach’s designers.
Following her crowning as the Miss PNP, Cajoco will be the police force ambassadress in advocacies like the Recovery and Wellness Program, Community-Based Rehabilitation Program, and other initiatives concerning women and children.
Meanwhile, the Ms. Makadiyos and Ms. Makatao titles were given to two other Mindanaoan beauties PO2 May Shell Oro from Northern Mindanao and PO1 Cris Pastores of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) respectively.
The title Ms. Makabayan was given to PO1 Elymor Chrysma Caberto from the Cordillera Region, while PO1 Anne Jerica Buenafe was hailed as the Ms. Makakalikasan.
Pastores also won the Ms. Photogenic, Best in Advocacy, and People’s Choice awards. Carberto and PO2 Ria Angelley Bero from Mimaropa were given the Ms. Aficionado, and Best in Talent award respectively.
According to Police Community Relations Group Director Chief Supt. Rhodel Sermonia, the pageant has helped in enhancing the image of the PNP by showcasing its humane and soft side.
“When we launched the program, we have seen and felt the outpouring support coming from our NGOs, Sermonia said.
