80,000 jobs await Filipinos on Labor Day

As a way of paying tribute to Filipino workers, around 80,000 local and overseas job vacancies await job hunters in the upcoming Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-led job and business fair on May 1, Labor Day.

DOLE disclosed that there are 829 participating employers comprised of 666 local agencies and 163 overseas companies that will bring 78,675 local, overseas, and government jobs.

This will be hosted by the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) job and business fairs spearheaded by the joint efforts of the DOLE and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

The TNK will be simultaneously held in 53 places nationwide.

Here’s a quick rundown of the job vacancies that will be made available for job seekers on Labor Day:

Local jobs:

• Soldiers (AFP/PNP) – 4,002
• Customer Service Representatives – 1,470
• Production workers/Factory workers – 1,443
• Masons (finishing/rough) – 1,385
• Call Center Agents – 1,306
• Production Machine Operators – 1,288
• Construction workers – 900
• BJMP (government) – 889
• Service crews – 880
• Carpenters (finishing/rough) – 708

Overseas employment:

• Nurses – 3,988
• Technicians – 1,546
• Food and beverage staff – 689
• Engineers (mechanical, electrical, civil) – 344
• Production workers/ factory workers – 300
• Sales associate professionals – 200
• Construction workers – 200
• Assistant head managers – 174
• Cooks – 157
