The Philippines has expressed interest in organizing a global gaming conference in Manila in 2019, a similar event to the recently concluded 2018 International Casion Exhibition (ICE).
“We want to do a similar gaming conference in Manila. We were just talking. We will form a working committee on how we can organize something like this. It’s just to put us also – for marketing purposes – on the map,” Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) Chair Andrea Domingo said.
While hosting the said event would require investments, Domingo has expressed confidence that the country’s industry leaders can help support the event.
Domingo also said that the said project expected to bring in local and foreign gaming enthusiasts will be a great help to Pagcor in formulating policies essential in improving the said industry.
“If we’re going to work fast, maybe we can do that next year. It’s only February now. Maybe, at the end of next year, we can do this,” Domingo stated.
The chair also said that hosting an international gaming conference will also help her and the rest of the Pagcor staff to acquaint themselves with the latest in gaming technology.
Offshore gaming companies in the Philippines likewise joined the 2018 edition of ICE London to find out about new trends and opportunities in the gaming world that could help them improve their business.
